Safety requirements of the DGUV

Who is DGUV?

The DGUV (German Statutory Accident Insurance) is the umbrella association of commercial professional associations and the public accident insurance provider. The Statutory Accident Insurance supports employers, managers and safety officers in communicating numerous occupational safety topics.

DGUV and agitators

Since the DGUV deals with the prevention of accidents at work within its area of prevention, safety requirements arise for various areas of industry. We can find safety requirements for agitators under the DGUV Department of Raw Materials and Chemical Industry in the Chemical Industry Machinery section.

The DGUV states: “There is currently no European harmonized work equipment-specific standard for tripod and hanging agitators. However, since agitators with very different levels of safety are offered on the market, a DGUV set of rules was created in an exchange of experiences between manufacturers, operators, professional associations and associations.” (Source: DGUV, safety requirements for tripod and suspended agitators, link to source)
