7 features for your security

Work carefree according to the DGUV guidelines

Imagine this: Your IBC agitator has been lifted with a forklift over forklift tabs and is floating freely. The agitator shaft and impeller are to be cleaned. Your employee is already busy cleaning. Another employee is still fiddling with the control of the agitator and then something happens: the employee accidentally hits the start button. The agitator starts. The other employee has his hands on the impeller and cannot react in time…

We leave further details to your imagination. This is just one of many unforeseen situations that you can get into in no time if security risks have not been made clear beforehand and appropriate precautions have been taken.

We counter risky situations like these with 7 safety features that will make your life more worry-free and also follow the DGUV (German statutory accident insurance) guidelines:

Agitator release

1.

The agitator release is based on a two-stage system: release by the system and manual release by humans. The system releases the agitator as soon as the clamping hooks on both sides of the traverse or lid have been tightened. The two sensors report “OK” at the same time. With our tripods, the system reports “OK” when the lid is on the container. The agitator can now be started by a person using the start button.

Emergency stop

2.

When an emergency situation occurs, it is important to act quickly. Pressing the centrally located and easily accessible emergency stop stops the agitator immediately.

Restart protection

3.

If the system is interrupted, be it by activating the emergency stop or opening a clamping hook, the agitator must be released again manually by a person after being released by the system.

Two-hand operation

4.

Our tripod agitators are also equipped with two-hand operation. In order to move the agitator, the push buttons on both sides of the control panel must be pressed simultaneously. This prevents the user from squeezing their hands or arms during the procedure.

ATEX safety

5.

If explosive vapors or dust are produced during mixing, there is always a risk of explosion. Our agitators are ATEX certified for ATEX zone 1 as standard, meaning at no extra charge to you. We also have the right and uncomplicated solution for ATEX Zone 0/1 to be on the safe side.

Noise

6.

The noise pollution of a system can be so enormous that it becomes a burden for the operator. Other, possibly important ambient noises also remain unheard. Our agitators are surprisingly quiet in operation and create a pleasant and safe working environment.

Currentless

7.

Do your agitators come into contact with water? Be it through the production process, through the mix itself or during cleaning? Bringing electricity into contact with water, even if it is possible, can be dangerous.

We consciously avoid using electronic components in our pneumatic agitators. This means that their use with water and in damp environments is always completely uncomplicated and worry-free.

Conclusion

The market is littered with cheap mixers. We are often surprised at how carelessly the issues of stability, quality and security are treated. We don’t lie in the bathtub at home with a hairdryer either.
