Air motor as a helper in an emergency

An Austrian customer, a manufacturer of fiber composites for wind turbines, sporting goods, industry and the aircraft industry, uses our IP68 waterproof air motors as a safety system for its piping system. Our customer requires a temperature of 230 degrees for processing the composite materials. To do this, he uses oil heated to 230 degrees. He sends this through his production process via pipes. Our powerful radial piston motors are used to keep the pipe system [...]

ATEX motor - now it's getting colorful

A well-known Czech manufacturer of printing machines stirs nine different colors in each of its machines. Previously, he used vane motors with a small propeller as an agitator and a very high speed. Then he became aware of our air motors, which consume up to 90% less compressed air than the old vane motors, despite their very high performance. He was also [...]

Air motor instead of servo motor - simpler and more cost-effective

Our customer is a Czech special machine manufacturer. Its core business is the construction of machines for the automatic capping of bottles and jars in the food industry. In our case, this involved the capping of pickle jars. He approached us with the request to replace the servomotors previously used with PTM radial piston motors. Why PTM air motors? The background to his [...]

Pneumatic motor drives wheelchair

The Human Engineering Research Laboratories at the University of Pittsburgh developed and built a waterproof wheelchair that is powered exclusively by compressed air. The university opted for the air motor from PTM mechatronics GmbH due to its IP68 watertight design. This means that the motor can be completely submerged under water.
