Higher standards, stricter guidelines - companies across all industries now have to ensure that their processes are not only fast, cost-effective and simple, but also clean. And they have to do this in a highly controlled manner. The semiconductor industry is a good example of this. Highly sensitive processes are specially encapsulated to eliminate human influences. This requires a general rethink and the development of new production processes. This is now also affecting industries for which this topic is more or less uncharted territory, such as plastic injection molding manufacturers or automotive suppliers.

PTM has therefore been working on process automation in cleanrooms for several years in order to be able to offer its customers the solutions they urgently need. This is why we presented our cleanroom products for the first time at Cleanzone in Frankfurt on October 23/24, 2018:

As an established manufacturer of automation technology for decades, we recently further developed our intelligent electric gripper for use in clean and ultra-clean rooms. Classified according to DIN 14644 for ISO class 1, our cleanroom gripper works with the highest precision and absolute flexibility in every work step.
Our Stainless steel motors, also classified for ISO Class 1, are powerful drives for driving (e.g. conveyor belts), moving (e.g. components or feed units) or turning (e.g. rotary tables).
Developed on the basis of our efficient stainless steel motors, we offer a whole series of Stirring technology from the drive to complete agitators for the clean room.

Together with our stand visitors, we addressed questions such as:
What level of automation should be achieved? Is it semi-automation with human support or stand-alone devices? To what extent does safe human-machine collaboration play a role?
What criteria, such as moving weight, positioning accuracy or the integration of Industry 4.0, need to be considered when selecting a suitable robot?
