Cie\u013eom je vytvori\u0165 \u010do najv\u00e4\u010d\u0161iu plochu na prenos hmoty medzi plynom a kvapalinou. Zjednodu\u0161ene to znamen\u00e1, \u017ee plyn by mal by\u0165 v kvapaline rozpt\u00fdlen\u00fd tak, aby sa \u010do najviac kvapaliny dostalo do kontaktu s plynom. Opa\u010dn\u00fd pr\u00edpad by nastal, ak by sa plyn aplikoval napr\u00edklad len na povrch kvapaliny. V d\u00f4sledku toho by do kontaktu s plynom pri\u0161iel iba povrch kvapaliny a iba povrch by s plynom reagoval.<\/p>\n<p>Kontakt medzi plynom a kvapalinou by mal vies\u0165 k reakcii. Tieto reakcie s\u00fa potrebn\u00e9 v biotechnologickom, chemickom a farmaceutickom priemysle. Pr\u00edkladmi s\u00fa hydrogen\u00e1cia (prid\u00e1vanie vod\u00edka), oxid\u00e1cia (prid\u00e1vanie kysl\u00edka) a ferment\u00e1cia (aer\u00f3bna: prid\u00e1vanie kysl\u00edka). Rozpty\u013eovanie sa m\u00f4\u017ee pou\u017ei\u0165 aj na nahradenie jedn\u00e9ho plynu v kvapaline in\u00fdm.<\/p>\n<p>Pri optim\u00e1lnom procese sply\u0148ovania sa plyn rozdel\u00ed na \u010do najviac mal\u00fdch bubliniek. Tie sa potom \u010do najrovnomernej\u0161ie rozmiestnia v kvapaline bez toho, aby vznikali \u010fal\u0161ie kontraprodukt\u00edvne procesy, ako napr\u00edklad penenie.
