Ultimately, they consist of several ingredients. These are homogenized into one another in the stirring process, such as chocolate or fruit gum mass in the food industry, creams or serums in cosmetics or paint in the chemical industry. If we take the example of paint, these include binders, pigments, oils, resins, fillers, additives and solvents.<\/p>\n<p>Some of these mixtures, such as the aforementioned varnish, quickly separate into their individual components as soon as they are no longer stirred. They must therefore either be stirred continuously or stirred before further use or filling.<\/p>\n<h4>What factors are important for the stirring process?<\/h4>\n<p>The mixing process is subject to some passive and some active aspects that should be taken into account in order to achieve an all-round good result. We would like to list these below. We will present you with questions that you may have in this regard.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-793918712\">\n\n\t<div id=\"col-408065712\" class=\"col box-cl small-12 large-12\"  >\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t<div id=\"text-2637682050\" class=\"text p-20\">\n\t\t\n<h4>Viscosity of the stirred substance<\/h4>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ptm-mechatronics.com\/en\/grundlagen-guide\/viskositaet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">viscosity<\/a>, The viscosity, i.e. the viscosity, of a stirred product can change during the course of a stirring process. There can be several reasons for this: 1. different substances with different viscosities are homogenized into one another during the process. Substances with a lower viscosity make the mixture more fluid, those with a higher viscosity more viscous. 2. let's take the example of stirring paint: the solvent is a volatile component in the mixture. It evaporates. As a result, the viscosity of the paint becomes increasingly viscous. Solvent is added and the paint becomes more fluid again.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t<div id=\"text-1048513619\" class=\"text box-blue\">\n\t\t\n<p>Questions: How can I measure the viscosity continuously? How can I adjust the speed of the stirrer to the different conditions? In the example of paint stirring, how much solvent needs to be added to restore the perfect viscosity? How can the agitator refill the solvent completely independently?<br \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-341688529\">\n\n\t<div id=\"col-832199351\" class=\"col box-cl small-12 large-12\"  >\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t<div id=\"text-2274765841\" class=\"text p-20\">\n\t\t\n<h4>Fill level in the agitator tank changes<\/h4>\n<p>1. the level in the mixing container can change due to evaporation of the substances, as mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p>2. some of the contents are removed for further use or for filling, for example via a suction lance or a filling system. Or further components are added to the contents so that the fill level rises.<\/p>\n<p>The fill level has a significant influence on the speed of the agitator. As the contents are removed, the resistance at the agitator decreases and the speed increases unintentionally. This could, for example, result in foaming due to over-intensive stirring or an increase in shear forces. Adding contents increases the resistance again. The agitator must develop a higher torque in order to keep the homogeneity constant.<br \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t<div id=\"text-4288444307\" class=\"text box-blue\">\n\t\t\n<p>Questions: How do I get the agitator to recognize a lower and higher fill level and automatically adjust the speed and torque?<br \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-1455804806\">\n\n\t<div id=\"col-1686754768\" class=\"col box-cl small-12 large-12\"  >\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t<div id=\"text-3396650922\" class=\"text p-20\">\n\t\t\n<h4>Air consumption - potential cost savings <\/h4>\n<p>1. depending on the application, an agitator consumes more or less compressed air. There are also striking differences in consumption between different types of agitator, such as the energy-intensive vane motor and the economical\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ptm-mechatronics.com\/en\/product-category\/antriebstechnik\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Radial piston motor<\/a>. High savings potential can be exploited here if the consumption of compressed air is measured. 2. some media do not need to be stirred continuously, but only shortly before consumption or filling, for example. This results in stirring pauses, for example at night. This may require different speeds or torques, which must be set accordingly on the agitator.<\/p>\n<p>2. some processes consist of successive steps. For example, if a liquid component is added first, followed by a solid component.
