DGUV<\/span><\/h1>\n

The German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV)<\/a> acts as an umbrella organization for state accident insurers in Germany, including employers' liability insurance associations, accident insurance funds and municipal institutions. Together, they insure around 70 million people against accidents at work, commuting accidents, occupational accidents and occupational illnesses.<\/p>\n

The DGUV is organized as an association with legal capacity. Its members are the employers' liability insurance associations, the accident insurance funds and municipal insurance providers. It is subdivided regionally into six regional associations - Northwest, Northeast, West, Central, Southwest and Southeast.<\/p>\n

The association is headquartered in Berlin and has administrative offices in Sankt Augustin, Bochum, Dresden and Hennef, among others. The chairmanship of the Executive Board is rotated annually between the employer and insured parties.<\/p>\n

The principle of self-administration is central: employer and employee representatives (insured persons) each have an equal number of votes on the committees. The DGUV General Assembly elects the Board of Directors and decides on fundamental issues relating to the association.<\/p>\n

With this structure, the DGUV combines technical control, representation of interests and operational management of the statutory accident insurance in Germany.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n
