Typical container categories are the hobbock, the drum and the intermediate bulk container (IBC).<\/p>\n<p>Hobbock<\/p>\n<p>The hobbock is a cylindrical or conical container with handles attached to the side. With a maximum volume of 60 liters, it can usually be carried by one or two people. Hobbocks were first used in New York. Their name is probably derived from the English company Hubbuck.<\/p>\n<p>Barrel<\/p>\n<p>A barrel is a cylindrical container, usually made of wood, metal or plastic. Drums come in all possible sizes. Drums with volumes of 100 to 220 liters are particularly common in the paint and varnish industry.<\/p>\n<p>Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC)<\/p>\n<p>In contrast to the hobbock and the drum, the intermediate bulk container (IBC) has the shape of a cuboid. It is made of plastic and holds a volume of 500 to 3000 liters, depending on the size. Typical IBCs measure 1200 mm x 1000 mm x 1160 mm and have a capacity of around 1000 liters. IBCs are also designed for the transportation of hazardous goods. As a rule, a metal cage then encases the plastic container. IBCs are typically placed on pallets for transportation.<\/p>\n<p>PTM mechatronics offers coordinated agitators for containers of all sizes and the appropriate traverse for them.
