Definition<\/h4>\n

The occupational exposure limit value indicates,\u00a0\u201eup to which concentration of a substance acute or chronic harmful effects on health are generally not to be expected.\u201c<\/a>\u00a0It replaced the previously applied MAK values (values for the maximum workplace concentration) on January 1, 2005.<\/p>\n

Evaluation and publication of occupational exposure limits<\/h4>\n

Legally binding values are defined by the Committee on Hazardous Substances (AGS<\/a>) according to the criteria of\u00a0BekGS 901<\/a>\u00a0\u201eCriteria for the derivation of occupational exposure limits\u201c were developed or evaluated and published in the\u00a0TRSG 900<\/a>\u00a0announced.<\/p>\n

The following are used for the evaluation\u00a0MAK values<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0German Research Foundation<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Occupational exposure limits of the EU<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If no occupational exposure limit values are specified for a substance in the TRSG 900, the\u00a0TRSG 402<\/a>\u00a0be used for the evaluation.<\/p>\n

Occupational exposure limits in agitator technology<\/h4>\n

Occupational exposure limits can also play a role in agitator technology. When stirring powders, for example, fine mists can be whirled up by the stirring process. Powder particles can also be released into the air when powders are added to and stirred into liquids. Some substances release vapors into their surroundings during stirring.<\/p>\n
